Meet our Workshop Manager Bart Musiek
A happy team makes for a successful company

This is Bart Musiek, our Workshop Manager. Bart started with Amptec at the tender age of 17 before he'd even finished school - that was 19 years ago, and now he's running the entire cabling department.
“I started as a cabling assistant on the recommendation of an uncle who already worked at Amptec,” recalls Bart. “It was just a student job, but I enjoyed it and got on well with the team. It was actually Bart Willems himself - our CEO - who suggested that I do my high school specialisation year at Amptec because I'd learn more here than at school! I took his advice, and nearly two decades later I'm Coordinating the inhouse production department.”

For the first five years Bart worked mainly with David Wagemans, who also still works for the company. “He pretty much taught me everything, from the importance of organisation and preparation to how to deliver the high quality that Amptec stands for. He was a real mentor for me.”
“I think perhaps one of the best things about Amptec is that they understand that people are their greatest asset - and a happy team makes for a successful company.”
When the time came, Bart was given all the help and support he required to move successfully into a coordinating role, and he's grateful for it. Now that he's no longer doing installations, which means more regular working hours, he can spend more time with his family. “I think perhaps one of the best things about Amptec is that they understand that people are their greatest asset - and a happy team makes for a successful company. For example, I've always loved the freedom and flexibility of the working hours. It's a give-and-take situation. There's an understanding of life after work, and we all work for each other. Farming will always be my passion. Even when I had to work in the field for days, it was accommodated. On the other hand, if we need to work extra hours to get a job done, we do so without complaining.”
“It's thanks to the great atmosphere we have among us that I can be frank with my colleagues - and they with me.”
Bart finds satisfaction in getting to know his colleagues, meeting deadlines together, and delivering successful projects. “By learning to work well together with colleagues, we all grow,” he says. The atmosphere among colleagues is great, and it's the same with management, something that Bart considers key to a healthy work environment - especially as he says he can be quite outspoken at times! “It's thanks to the great atmosphere we have among us that I can be frank with my colleagues - and they with me.”

Ultimately, Bart loves his job and appreciates being able to contribute to Amptec's success. “The variety in customer requests is challenging, but it's rewarding to deliver highly specialized cabling solutions, even if some of the tasks can be repetitive,” he notes. “When you test the final product and it works perfectly, it's a great feeling. I want to go home with the feeling that I've contributed to the company's progress.”
