ANUBIS IS NOW DANTE READY™
Hapi MKIII with Dante option
Merging is pleased to announce Hapi Mk III. As the most significant upgrade over its predecessor, the Mk III model is Dante Ready™. This is Merging’s response to market demand for support of what is currently the most widely used AoIP protocol. The Hapi Mk III is thus even more versatile, making Merging Technologies attractive to many users who previously had to resort to other solutions. At the same time, Merging’s and Neumann’s commitment to RAVENNA/AES67 remains unchanged.
There are no additional costs for users who do not require Dante. Ex factory, Hapi Mk III is Dante Ready™, i.e. a Dante license must be purchased from Audinate for use in Dante audio networks. Two Dante license options will be offered, 16/16 channel I/O and 64/64 channel I/O.
The base functionality of Hapi Mk III is identical to its predecessor’s, as is the 19”, 1U form factor. Like Hapi Mk II, the Mk III model offers two slots for I/O expansion cards.
V3 Expansion cards
Hapi Mk III requires new V3 expansion cards, which will be launched alongside Hapi Mk III.
The following I/O expansion cards will be available:
ADO8V3S 8 Channel Mic/Line A/D Card with Direct Outs 192 kHz
ADO8V3P 8 Channel Mic/Line A/D Card with Direct Outs DSD/DXD
DA8V3S 8 Channel Line D/A Card 192 kHz
DA8V3P 8 Channel Line D/A Card DSD/DXD
ADA8V3S 8 Channel Mic/Line A/D & D/A 192 kHz
ADA8V3P 8 Channel Mic/Line A/D & D/A DSD/DXD
MADI128V3 MADI Card 128 Channels with two SFP cages
Anubis Is Now Dante Ready™
Merging’s desktop interface Anubis becomes Dante Ready™ as well. This allows Anubis to become the central hub and mixer in a Dante environment and opens up a whole world of new use cases.
New Anubis devices will come with a Dante Ready™ sticker on the packaging as well as on the bottom of the device itself. Just like Hapi Mk III, Anubis can run either the stock RAVENNA/AES67 firmware or a Dante enabled firmware. The Dante firmware comes at no additional cost. However, to use Dante, an 8 channel or 64 channel I/O license must be purchased from Audinate, who also offer Dante driver software, e.g. Dante virtual soundcard.
Please note that older Anubis devices cannot run the Dante firmware as adding Dante compatibility requires changes to the hardware. For Anubis SPS devices, a Dante Ready™ retrofit can be implemented by Merging for a service fee. A Dante Ready™ retrofit is not available for Anubis devices with a single Ethercon connector. More details on the Dante Ready™ service pricing and procedure will be announced later.
